ACE OF THIEVES

The Regime sunk its claws into each and every Ace in the world—including Blair's brother.

Seeing Wren’s grave every day only made him doubt further that his brother was gone—his unbridled, cheery, genius younger brother. Blair may have lost his memories, and years of his life, but he was sure. The coffin sounded empty and hollow. How could Wren be dead?

Sifting through the roots of his family and his amnesia, and burning through the rubble of the Regime, Blair remembers bit by bit what happened on the day his brother disappeared.

Bit by bit, Blair unsheathes the memory covered in soot and magic and blood.

How could Wren be dead? Because he’s standing right in front of him.

THE ACES

Blair (Zhiyou) Serapis ♠

Somewhat of a hermit, Blair Serapis enjoys spending his time in his comfort zone, sticking to simple commissions and robbing for the sake of justice. A stolen gem? He got you. A rightful pouch of coins? Don’t worry about it! He’s got your back. It’s something he can tell his mother about, the sights he saw, the flowers he’d bring back home.

He lives with his mother, and he loves her to death. His father died a few years back, and he misses him, but…

There’s something up with his brother. More specifically, the boy’s grave.

It’s hollow.

His amnesia limits him, and it scares his mom, but his curiosity plagues him. Distrustful of the Regime, of his friends, of his own family, he tries to figure out what is real and what isn’t. There’s a gaping hole inside his chest, and he’s scared of what might replace it. He’s terrified of what it was before.

But he can’t breathe through shallow lungs, can he?

Maybe he never had your back to begin with. Maybe he was just searching for something. Maybe he was stealing something back, a memory, or a clue.

At least he won’t rob you after you’ve paid him. Probably.

Ebony Fidèle

Small town girl! Ebony Fidèle is well liked in her town and everywhere she goes, but her habit of picking fights is…not.

She has good intentions, believe her, she serves for the good of the community. When she’s outside of her community, though…

She grew up alongside Blair, and by proxy, his brother. Her shyness ebbed with time, and now, she goes out of her way to protect her people.

Violence isn’t really her forte. Which is weird, because, I mean, look at her. She’s built of muscle and probably the broadsword behind her back.

Double weird, because her mom was a frenzied defense fanatic. And while she’s definitely not afraid to stop her punches, she is scared enough to pull them back.

She doesn’t talk about her childhood much anymore. She’s said she wanted to move on, please.

She lives in the moment! Keep smiling, keep laughing! What a strong character.

Pollux (Tatsuhiko) Fukushima

Oh god, isn’t this guy pretentious? Pollux Fukushima walks around with a calm smugness, something big enough to notice, and yet at the same time too tender to criticize. He works as the 6th Seat in the Ivory Council, and boy does he fit in. Skilled in combat and words, he makes a good employee, and your boss.

He loves his family. Sure, he doesn’t talk about them much, but he sticks by his twin brother almost on the daily. He says messing up your sibling’s current objective is basically sibling law, so, yeah, he’d obviously be around his brother a lot!

He’s sociable. Very friendly. He likes keeping a distance, but he won’t be so rude to not greet you while passing by. The more you think about it, the more you realize he’s a near replica of his twin brother, but it’s alright, because at least this one is nicer to you and gives you a ton more breaks. What hobbies does this guy even have?

It’s sort of none of your business, honestly, and people leave it as that. He’s a coworker, after all, and more than that, he’s a Fukushima. That’s all there is to know.

Castor (Kazuhiko) Fukushima ♣

If you think you knew what stuck-up was, you were wrong. Castor Fukushima is the perfect example of a higher-up, working as the 5th Seat of the Ivory Council. He’s polite, definitely smart, but so unresponsive socially it almost pains people to talk to him, even when it’s business.

Some call it awkwardness, others call it arrogance, he doesn’t pay much mind. All that matters is that he can help the people around him, even if it means doing things out of necessity. That’s why he joined the Ivory Council in the first place.

He’s sort of rude sometimes, telling you off for doing something wrong, or quickly involving himself in other people’s business, but it takes a different kind of bravery to tell your boss that he’s the one doing something wrong. Even more so considering he takes orders directly from Andrew Reed, the 1st Seat. He’ll do anything Reed says. He’s actually more loyal and more useful than you think he’d be. Sometimes the only thing you think he does is stand there and look pretty, but he eagerly accepts more when asked to.

Thanks, boss!

Elliot Vasco

This guy’s breaking the machines again. Thankfully, Elliot Vasco is a mechanic, and he’ll rebuild it, probably even better than it once was.

Actually, he sort of…just does everything he can get his hands on. If he sucks, well, he sucks. But this dude is good at damn near everything. Not perfect, never the best, but shit does he pull his weight around like it’s his lifeline. He takes on extra work in Antirrhinum, and he has multiple jobs outside of it as well.

Despite how competitive he can get, he never seems to join any sort of competition, outside of the basketball games he plays in the neighborhood. He revels in the cheers he gets from them, though. Proud bastard.

He feels very open with people, a hyperactive social butterfly and a fairly popular figure in Antirrhinum just in general, but he keeps his work life and his private life very separate. But that’s alright, he asks to hang out further away from Antirrhinum, and preferably further from his house, because god forbid his mothers see him acting out of line.

His temper flares up a bit, but he has it tamed. Don’t worry about it!
